July 29th evening, short down time...

I received an email from server host in regards to maintenance so that means a short down time at some point on Friday evening, July 29th.

'Electrical circuit breaker maintenance and routine datacenter testing will be performed to improve the integrity of our **** data center on Friday, July 29th, 2011 between the hours of 4 P.M. and 7 P.M. Pacific Standard Time. All fire alarm, smoke detectors and fire suppression systems will be tested. There will also be an emergency power shut down during this time to replace and repair circuit breakers and power distribution systems. This will cause a brief downtime on the following machine for approximately 5 minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience.'

As it gets closer I may just plan to shut shard down during that time instead of everyone waiting for it to drop off and risk revert and possible loss of items/pets etc.

I plan to just take it down right before 4pm pacific time to prevert a revert when they cut the power. Its supposed to be short down time but they just give a 3 hour time span for when it will happen. I'll be keeping an eye on it and get it back up as soon as it looks like they are finished, so hopefully it'll be before 7pm pacific but no guarantees.

Shard is currently down for the Server Maintenance going on right now. I shut DC down to save from item/pet loss etc of waiting for it to go down and revert... I'll be checking periodically during this 3 hour maintenance slot to see if the server is back up and then get DC back up.
