couple of links I find myself checking once in awhile, thought I'd pass them on incase someone else find's them informative...
first is realtime earthquakes for US, if want for the world, just hit the 'EARTHQUAKES' link near the upper left corner
earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsus/
(for those who follow these things, it's been a noticable increase over the last 6 months world wide, makes ya wonder... bet it's feeding the 2012 idea)
other one is current large fire reports.. usually small ones don't get listed but has come in handy for us when larger ones have been nearby...
