Two pinnacles ascended upwards, constructed of steel, concrete and glass.
Polished marble adorned the interior, shiney brass and tasteful hangings graced the walls.
Cables and wires meshed throughout its spanse brought life to the structures, appropriately called The Twin Towers.
Like a majestic citadel they stood guard of the city.
Their beauty impressed so many, their meaning soon reflected with the change of Our History.
As we watched in disbelief and horror, two planes, one after the other, penetrated the Pillars.
Smoke billowed outwards and fires burned fueled by her contents
Steel beams buckled, windows crashed, paper flew with broken glass, like birds in flight they fluttered with the wind.
But more than that ... so much more ... were images of people trying to escape
Many lives all met in one spectacular fate, fear, saddness, grief and anger could be heard in their cries.
It is said there were more birds sighted that day, and many fell from the skies, flailing and struggling they met their deaths, trying to escape the heat and acrid smoke.
But the Great Father knew better. He reached out and captured each soul as they left tormented bodies.
Wiping a tear from his eyes, each one spilled for every life that was extuinguished.
His anger stirred.
The Great Mother grieved as each of her children met their tragic fate. She cradled them in her arms and greeted them, welcoming them back home. Their untimely deaths caused by the madness of few that so sensesly lashed out.
Families shattered, Lives torn, spirits squelched.
How could this happen many asked. Yet it did.
Why did this happen? They asked.
The Great Father would not answer
Mother Earth could not answer.
Humanity had done this to itself through polotics and wars, both silent and spoken words fueled the actions of the few that carried out this Horrible deed.
Ten years later we reflect, we remember.
The father that never made it home.
The mother that perished within the walls.
The sister that is lost in the rubble.
The brothers that fought to save lives.
The heros that risked and lost their lives to save their human family.
Let us never forget.
Let us not allow their fates have met in vain.
May we all stand in Unity.
Life is precious.
The end.

I hope it stirred some of you and that it reflects the day we lost so many.
